President of Laidlaw Company Dies.
William Laidlaw, Prominent Legionaire, Is Found Dead In Bed.
Belmont, Oct. 24-- William Laidlaw, fifty-five years old, prominent Belmont manufacturer and active in Allegany County American Legion affairs, was found dead in bed this morning at seven o'clock by members of his family.
Mr. Laidlaw had retired Sunday evening in usual health although he had complained of dizzy spells and headaches for the past few days, members of his family stated.
During the World War, he was engaged in active service in the trenches in France, being captain of a Machine Gun Company. He was a major in the United States Army Reserves.
For the past twenty years, Mr. Laidlaw has been a resident of Belmont, where he headed the William Laidlaw Manufacturing Company, manufacturers of saws and several patented products.
He was one of the most active men in Legion affairs in Allegany County and was a former County Legion officer. He is a Past Commander of the Herbert DeLong American Legion Post, No. 808, of Belmont.
Surviving are his wife and one daughter, Aileen.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

War Veteran Will Be Buried In Arlington.
Belmont, Oct 25-- The body of William Laidlaw will be taken to Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, D. C., for burial following a private military funeral to be held at the family home, 19 Genesee Street, Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock.
The services will be in charge of the Rev. Jerome Kates, of Rochester, chaplain in the World War, and will be attended by a number of Buffalo ex-service officers associated with Mr. Laidlaw in France, among them Colonel George Minniss, who will lead the military portion of the last rites.
