Utopia Cemetery

Wirt, Allegany, New York

DAR List

Utopia Cemetery in the town of Wirt is also know as the Pink Schoolhouse Cemetery.  It is located on lot 31, State Route 275, just noth of County Route 8.  It is on the west side of the road.

“Probably the first place of interment in the Town of Wirt was the Utopia Cemetery on East Notch Road, where stones were placed as early as 1811. The Kenyons, Doyles, Whitwoods, LeSuers, Champlains and others were buried there including several Civial War Veterans” -- A history of the town of Wirt and village of Richburgh, New York
