Class of 1960, Andover Central School

Diplomas Are Awarded to 41 Andover Seniors

The 31 members of the Class of 1960, Andover Central School, were graduated last night at the schools 85th Annual Commencement.

Dr. J. Robert Common, president of the Board of Education, presented the diplomas, and awards were handed to recipients by Principal James H. Kessler.

The Commencement Address, "Needs, Seeds and Deeds," was delivered by Curtus W. Haug, Y.M.C.A. general secretary at Jamestown.   Student speakers were Cleona Jean Updyke, valedictorian, and Ann Cannon, salutatorian.  The invocational and benediction prayers were offered by the Rev. Robert E. Stover and the Rev. John R. Shea, respectively.

The school orchestra played the prelude, processional, recessional and postlude.  Musical selections were offered by the Girls Ensemble and the Mixed Chorus.
