Allegany County, New York Photos

Charles W. Swain and Marcia (Lafferty) Swain were married 1912 in Rushford.  Charles was born October 31, 1884 in Somerton, England.  In 1889 with his parents, Joseph and Ellen(Webber) Swain and his sisters Anna and Ada, they immigrated to the United States.  Joseph and Ellen settled in the Rushford/New Hudson area. Marcia is the daugther of Riley and Belle (Dunlap) Lafferty.  She was born May 17, 1889 in New Hudson.  Charles and Marcia lived in the Rushford and raised 10 children.  Most of this family are buried in Hardy's Corner Cemetery.
