Wheeler Cemetery
Wirt, Allegany, New York
One would never suspect today that a cemetery exists just off teh West Notch Highway, near former Josheln Wheeler homestead. The stones are practically covered by trees, brush and myrtle vines. It was originally started as a privated cemetery by the Wheelers, but as the need became great, friends and neighbors were burried there. Josheln Wheeler 1784 - 1833 was teh first then others of his family as well as the Wellman Fosters, Wilcox, C. Hazzard and the Rynos, were buried there.
